Arsenal to beat Chelsea AND damage their EPL title defence hopes?

When Arsenal beat Chelsea comfortably last season at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League, it was a happy day for us Gooners, but instead of being the springboard to our own race for the EPL trophy it was the start of a great run for the Blues, after Antonio Conte learned his lesson and changed their tactics to go on a run that would see them crowned champions.

However, I do not think the same sort of thing would happen if Arsenal beat our London rivals in the Community Shield at Wembley today, especially after we also outclassed them in the FA cup final a couple of months ago. Instead I think it would land an early blow to their hopes of defending the title and might even be the start of a season like they had under Jose Mourinho after winning in the previous one.

I think that Arsene Wenger knows this as well, because he has already been saying things to get into the head of his rival manager, like how their summer signing of Alvaro Morata might actually be a downgrade on Diego Costa and about how being in the Champions League this season will make life a lot tougher.

I think that Wenger will pick his strongest possible Arsenal XI and will have the Gunners fired up to inflict and early blow to Chelsea’s EPL campaign. Let’s hope I am right Gooners!!
