The transfer of the Brazil international star Neymar from FC Barcelona to PSG has quickly become the most talked about and sensational transfer of a summer of big signings and Arsene Wenger has already had his say about the deal and how it shows the crazy nature of the modern game, but maybe he should be pleased because I think it could turn out to be a big help to Arsenal for a number of reasons.
The first is that it takes away the chance that the big spending French club could have made an offer that Arsenal could not refuse for Alexis Sanchez which would have seen the Gunners lose our star player this summer instead of keeping him as it now looks like we will.
The transfer might also hurt a few of our Premier League rivals as well. The Express is reporting that Barca could use some of the mega money they got from PSG to sign Dele Alli from our north London rivals Tottenham and that would certainly hurt their challenge for the Premier League title.
There are also rumours that Barca could now beat Real Madrid to Mbappe from Monaco and there was talk that if Madrid were to sign him they might sell Gareth Bale to Man United and we certainly would not want that to happen. Now if we could just get Barca to also sign Lucas Perez and Jack Wilshere, would that make this Neymar deal the best transfer of the summer for Arsenal?
