Arsenal’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny doesn’t think that they are a one man team who is always relying on Robin Van Persie to do the job for them, even though he acknowledges that he is one of the world’s best strikers and that he always manages to get the job done.
“I don’t think we are over-reliant on him,” said the Polish goalkeeper.
“We’ve got some fantastic players in this team and we work as a team. The whole team stuck together when we went 1-0 down against Fulham, we stuck together well.
“I don’t think we are a one-man team – we are a great all-round team.”
Van Persie was very close to hit the target against Fulham as well, but his shot was cleared off the line by an outfield player denying the Dutchman his goal. Even with no goal against Fulham, Robin is still the best scorer in the English Premier League in front of Manchester City’s Dzeko or Aguero.
Even though Robin Van Persie wouldn’t have been here without the rest of the team, it’s obvious that this also works the other way around so let’s just say that the two parts coexist in harmony.
