Arsenal starting XI for West Brom WITH Koscielny and Giroud

It is not as if the Arsenal injury problems are easing off, because Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta have both joined their team mates in the treatment room in the last couple of games, but at least Arsene Wenger has some of his squad available again.

The two French internationals Olivier Giroud and Lauren Koscielny have been sorely missed while being out of action with Tibia and ankle tendon problems respectively, buty both are back and Arsene Wenger will bring them back into the starting line up for today’s Premier League away clash with West Brom.

Szczesny pleased with Sanchez efforts so far at Arsenal

The Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez joined Arsenal later than the rest of the squad and was lacking in match fitness, but Wojciech Szczesny has been impressed with his performances in training, and even more so by him scoring the goal that got he Gunners into the Champions League places.

“I’m sure there’s many more goals to come from him,” Szczesny said. “He’s been around for a few weeks now and we see how good he is in training. He’s very sharp, and very strong as well.

“He works very hard as well so we’re delighted for him to score his first goal – it will take a bit of pressure off.

Arsenal keeper eyes trophy after Champions League draw!!

It appears that the Arsenal keeper, Wojciech Szczesny, is one of those glass half full sort of people. While most Arsenal fans are looking at our uppunebts in the group with a certain amount or resignation and bemoaning our luck again, the Poland international has no doubt that the Gunners can go all the way.

Having the German giants Borussia Dortmund for the third time in four seasons, along with the Turkish club Galatasaray and the Belgian champions Anderlecht, while the perennially lucky Chelsea got Maribor, Sporting and Schalke, is just typical of our luck, but Shezzer is not concerned, as reported by The Mirror.

So who played WELL for Arsenal against Besiktas?

It is fair to say that Arsenal have not really got going properly yet this season. Despite beating the Premier League champions comfortably in the Community Shield at Wembley, the Gunners have struggled in the two competitive games since.

It is far from being a disaster so far, because we got the three points against Crystal Palace and just need to beat Besiktas at home to go into the Champions League group stages, but neither performance was very convincing, with some of our front line players looking like they are still on holiday.

Arsenal will NOT sign both! So is it Casillas OR Ospina?

I thought that Arsenal would have announced the transfer of the Colombia international number one David Ospina by now, as it was reported that we had a greed a fee of around £3 million with his French club Nice and had sorted out the personal terms of his contract with the Gunners.

But still no announcement from Arsenal and it looks like the reason could be the captain of Spain and Real Madrid, Iker Casillas. The news from Spain, picked up by various media sources like Metro, is that the 33-year old is ready to quit his La Liga club as they close in on another World Cup keeper, Keylor Navas of Costa Rica.

Should Szczesny stay as Arsenal’s Number One?

Is Szczesny the right man to go with?

When Szczesny first made his debut in a premier league match at Old Trafford against Manchester United, many were expecting Arsenal to lose by a huge margin. Many thought fielding Szczesny will put huge pressure on him and cause him to crumble. However, he played a decent match and managed to make Wayne Rooney blast a penalty over the bar. That was when Szczesny announced his arrival to the footballing world.

DONE DEAL! Arsenal complete transfer of Colombia keeper Ospina

We all know that Arsene Wenger likes to keep the Arsenal transfer business firmly under wraps until the deal is done and ready to be announced. You can’t blame him because things can change at the last minute and you end up with egg on your face.

So to hear the Prof say on Saturday, in a report on after the first pre-season game against Boreham Wood, that he would definitely be signing a new keeper this summer, says to me that he is close to sealing the deal for a stopper to replace Lukasz Fabianski. It might seem a bit thin, but Wenger refused to be drawn on which other positions would be strengthened.

Should Arsenal pay more for Ospina or look elsewhere?

It was looking like the Colombian international number one, David Ospina, was going to become the third Arsenal signing of the summer, joining Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez as the Gunners put their recent transfer woes firmly to one side.

And it was looking like a great bit of business from Arsene Wenger as well, with the Daily Star reporting that the Frenchman had secured a deal with the keeper’s French club Nice that would cost us a measly £3.2 million, as Ospina is entering the final year of his contract and has told his French bosses that he is ready to move on to a bigger club.

Arsenal in 4-way transfer battle for Costa Rica keeper Navas

After his World Cup heroics in Brazil, Keylor Navas was always going to attract some interest in the transfer market. According to the Arsenal transfer rumours going around the media, the Gunners are one of the clubs that are now chasing the 27-year old Costa Rica star.

But even though Arsenal have the advantage of having one of his international team mates, Joel Campbell, already on the books, we are not going to have an easy ride if Arsene Wenger is intent on signing Navas as competition and cover for the Poland international Wojciech Szczesny, according to a report in The Mirror.

WOW – Casillas could be coming to Arsenal this week!

It has been a frustrating month for Arsenal fans, with Arsene Wenger seemingly sleeping on the job as the business of signing players in the transfer window goes on around us. But now all the signs are pointing to this week being a good one for the Gunners.

The official unveiling of the new PUMA hit on Thursday is likely to coincide with the official announcement of at least to exciting new Arsenal players. The fans want big names as well as the right players for the club, and they do not come much bigger than the Spain and Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas. That transfer really would turn heads this week, and probably increase the sale of shirts very nicely thank-you, and according to the Daily Star, it could happen.
