Real Madrid’s playmaker Ricardo Kaka snubbed the rumours which were linking him to different teams around Europe including Arsenal.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Brazilian due to Wenger’s known interest in the player and his need for a attacking midfielder, but according to the former Ballon D’Or there is no truth to the stories.

“At no time did [those rumours] come from me, nor were they my will,” Kaka told AS.

“I discussed it with Florentino and Mourinho. We talked and I was assured it was not going to happen.

“Speculation always exists – it is not the first time that they say I am leaving! But, I have always said my desire is to stay and succeed here.

“I keep working and eventually people will see the truth.”

Arsene Wenger is still keeping tabs on a number of midfielders around Europe, but according to the Frenchman no official progress has been made yet and the Gunners might be going into the second half of the season without the attacking midfielder they so badly need now that Wilshere and Diaby are both injured.
