This summer, Arsenal has moved quickly to bolster its squad. There’s little doubt that Timber and Rice will impress among the three Arsenal signings this summer: Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and Declan Rice. However, it is difficult to predict what to expect from Kai Havertz. Havertz wasn’t a hit in the Premier League after joining Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen. He failed to reach his full potential at Stamford Bridge, and it’s unclear whether he’ll do so at the Emirates. In light of these reservations, Ian Wright has dropped reasons why Arteta’s £65 million summer signing (Havertz) will do well at the club.Wright categorically notes that the German will revolutionise the Arsenal midfield and could add goals and assists. On Ringer FC, the Arsenal legend said, “He will bring a huge amount of extra strength to our midfield and variety to our play.
“I feel very, very confident about that midfield and what that midfield can produce.
“Especially with Havertz.
“Havertz in that role, I think we are going to be very surprised by his quality as well. Arsenal fans are going to love him.
“We haven’t seen nothing from him at Chelsea. Yes, he’s scored the winning goal in a Champions League final and stuff like that.
“But he’s not a [number] nine, he’s not a false nine. He’s either a ten drifting in like he did for [Bayer] Leverkusen, scoring lots of goals in his first couple of seasons.
“But I can see him as an eight, arriving in the box when Gabriel Jesus drifts out, leaving those spaces. I cannot help but get excited.”
Havertz struggled at Chelsea, but he may not at Arsenal, as Wright insinuates. If Arteta is brilliant at anything, it’s finding and honing talent, and there’s every reason to assume the German will “explode” under him.
