If Arsenal can’t get Messi, we could try and get Mbappe instead

Long-shot but why not?

This will no doubt go down as one of the “in your dreams” articles but let’s have a bit of fun while we wait for the real transfers to happen shall we!

My thinking is – could Kylian Mbappe be the shock signing we are calling for? Yes go on you can all laugh now, but never say never right ??

It’s only been a few days since the transfer window has opened  and already things are getting out of hand?

As the latest news coming out of France is that Mbappe is not going to sign a contract extension at Paris Saint Germain, meaning his current contract will run out in 2024 and if he doesn’t leave the French giants this summer they risk losing him for free next summer! Wow!

Now we know Mikel Arteta doesn’t like big egos at Arsenal and we know what he does with them once he sees that side of them, and given some of the things Mbappe reportedly asked for in his contract renewal at PSG only one year ago, it seems as though he does have a big ego, and that could become a problem if he doesn’t always get what he wants.

Although there is no denying that he is a very good footballer. So would you have Mbappé at the Emirates next season or the one after, Gooners? Well I know I wouldn’t mind..

Given that dreams of Lionel Messi  in an Arsenal shirt are never going to happen, especially after he will be off to the States and given the fact that the “old timers” yet pure goats of a bunch of players are not going to be in Europe anymore.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are now both in Saudi Arabia, so now the baton is handed over to the likes of Mbappe, Erling Haaland  and even Jude Bellingham to fly the flag in Europe for the next generation of goats it seems.

So if Mbappe happens to become available, why shouldn’t Arsenal attempt to get his signature. We have just as much right as any other club does don’t we? And we don’t want to keep losing Europe’s best players to the American and Arab leagues now do we!

Well we can but dream I guess!
