Thomas Eisfeld is one of Arsenal’s most talented youth players at the moment and although he is yet to feature on the big stage for Arsenal in the league, he has been in and around the team for domestic competitions, as well as playing a part at this year’s pre-season tour of Asia.
Having signed from Borussia Dortmund two seasons back in January 2011, many fans were angry and disgusted at the way that Wenger had spent all of the window looking at players that could seriously help us mount a greater challenge and make us a more powerful and dominate threat, only for us to make just a single signing during the window and it was a young kid from Germany that nobody had heard of.
We were disgusted, and as a result, Eisfeld’s name was put to shame. He hadn’t done anything wrong but Arsenal fans were so frustrated, I remember them getting angry over the fact we had signed yet another youngster that probably wasn’t going to make it, just as some fans have reacted to Sanogo this summer.
Oh how we were wrong, two years down the line and having featured heavily in the reserves, he made the cut to come along on the pre-season tour and we all witnessed what a fantastic player he is and surely will be in the near future. His goal was powerful, and although the strike is what is concentrated upon, his touch and position was also excellent, especially for a player of his age and current ability.
Because of his talent and the position he plays in on the left, I actually think that he may have a place at Arsenal next season. His role would only be small and of course he would be used sparingly but I feel that he definitely has what it takes to be an Arsenal player in the first team next season. Alternatively, of course, they may choose to send him out on loan. As always a Premier League team would be ideal, however any team where he is likely to gain experience through playing time, as well as a stronger competitive league then it won’t do any harm to him.
Eisfeld is a fantastic talent and it seems that just by watching these pre-season games, comparisons to the like of Jack Wilshere and Cesc Fabregas have already been made in saying that he will be one of the next dominant youngsters to come through the midfielder ranks at Arsenal.

I expect both Gnabry and Eisfeld to feature for us this season. I think AW will give them a run in the league cup and use them as subs in the prem when he can. Then depending on how they do they might send them on loan in the second half of the season or give them a more important role in the run in. Both have superb careers ahead of them.
gnabry n eisfeld both should be given chances this season…
with arshavin,chamakh n bendtner gone…
arsenal r short on wings
with only ox,walcott ,podolski n gervinho
both will get chances…
eisfeld can play as playmaker too…
i bet eisfeld is gonna make an impact this season….
I would happily use the academy players to replace squillaci (miquel) denilson (yennaris) arshavin (eisfeld) santos (gnabry) mannone (martinez) park (aneke) bendtner (sanogo) and chamakh (akpom) I am also happy to promote campbell bellerin and afobe. However djourou and coquelin need to be replaced by a centre back and a DM and gervinho (by a centre forward). I was thinking this way before the injuries to vermaelen and diaby but we now have such a small squad.
Sagna mertesacker koscielny gibbs
Walcott wilshire cazorla
Jenkinson (new signing) vermaelen monreal
(New signing) diaby
Eisfeld rosicky chamberlain
Miquel and aneke can come in for the injured vermaelen and diaby. We then have martinez bellerin boateng yennaris frimpong gnabry campbell sanogo afobe.
I like what I’ve seen from Gedion Zelalem…
His talent should be nurtured in the first team this season also.
Slightly off topic, but why do Arsenal come out and say they have tons of money and then end up buying mediocre players every season? Why can’t they just say they do not have money if they don’t. In that case, fans won’t be frustrated at lack of spending, and if they do end up buying someone eventually, us fans will welcome it as a pleasant surprise.
We really need to start using our young guns in the first team to hone their skills instead of sending them out to help other teams win matches.
