Arsenal fight Man City to make £30m Argentina ace 1st summer signing

Depending on which paper you read, Arsenal are going to hand Arsene Wenger a substantial transfer war chest between £70 million and over £100 million this summer. Assuming he signs a new deal and assuming he spends the money, Arsenal fans are in for a rare treat this summer.

The Frenchman was critical of Tottenham’s scatter gun approach to the transfer market last year, and he has often spoken about the quality already in the Arsenal squad, so it would be fair to expect a few big name signings. According to the Daily Star, the first of those could be Angel Di Maria, the Real Madrid and Argentina winger that we were linked with last summer.

Arsenal scouting Serie A right back is bad news for Jenkinson

If media reports are to be believed, Arsenal might well be on the verge of a move for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, who has attracted attention from all over Europe following impressive displays for the Italian side so far this season. Cuadrado also plays at right back and his arrival could spell big trouble for young Jenkinson, although last night’s performance suggests that we do need to sign somebody.

Ozil to herald more players from Madrid to Arsenal?

It’s now exactly a week since transfer window deadline day for the summer of 2013 and although club record signing Mesut Ozil hadn’t been announced at this time last week, the deal was already very clear in the frame and close to completion.

At the same time Arsenal were still being linked with Ozil’s now ex-teammate Angel Di Maria, who was believed to also have an offer on the table from Arsenal. However several pieces of information piece together a picture that suggests Madrid chose to keep Di Maria over Ozil. But after recognising they may have made the wrong decision, there are continued suggestions that Wenger may return for the Argentinean frontman either this January or next summer.
Ex-Gunner Ray Parlour is also confident that the signing of Mesut Ozil could see more Real Madrid players join the German international midfielder at the Emirates.

Ozil and Di Maria on their way to Arsenal?

Ozil and Di Maria on their way?

The transfer deadline day for summer 2013 has finally arrived and for Arsenal it didn’t look entirely promising however things have seriously heated up overnight, as Arsene Wenger has been listening to a bit of Daft Punk and has stayed up all night to get lucky!

Soon after the North London derby was concluded, which by the way was an absolutely fantastic game to be present at, Tottenham announced the sale of Gareth Bale to Spanish giants Real Madrid and suddenly it sparked a surge of movement across Europe. Arsenal entered advanced negotiations with Real Madrid over the signing of Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil according to the likes of BBC and Sky Sports, whilst other independent sources state that the transfer is all but concluded aside from a pending medical, which shall take place tomorrow.

Should Arsenal rescue Kaka from Real Madrid?

Arsenal have been linked with a lot of players this summer, and we surely must be the only club in the world that seems to agree pre-contracts with players only to never actually sign them and in fact in many cases let our rivals snap them up. However there is one team in particular that Arsenal have been snooping around and its Spanish super club Real Madrid, having been linked with basically the whole team as of this moment.

Did Spurs delay Bale so Arsenal had no Madrid players for derby?

Between Arsenal and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the transfer news has been heavily dominated by the lot down the lane, with both very talented players coming to White Hart Lane and also the saga of the one player that everyone laps up, Gareth Bale.

Bale has been touted all summer to leave Spurs; however his push for Real Madrid still hasn’t gone through with just 3 days left in the transfer window. Sky Sports News reported yesterday that Bale had finally agreed terms with the Spanish club, whilst it’s unsure if a fee has been agreed or not. But that aside, Sky Sports News also stated that information suggested Tottenham official Daniel Levy has not sanctioned the sale of Bale to Madrid yet for two reasons.

These 3 signings in 3 days – Can Arsenal Do It?

As I write this, there are only 3 days left in the window and aside from Arsenal’s interest in Draxler last night, there’s nothing else going on at the club, looking in from the outside. Maybe they are being super secretive. I was hoping we’d bring in 5 proper signings at the beginning of the week and with every passing day, my hopes are dwindling. However, we still can bring in players for 3 positions of sufficient quality. Here are my suggestions:

Arsenal agree €30 million transfer fee for Real Madrid star

According to the latest reports regarding Arsenal’s hunt for Real Madrid players, Angel Di Maria is subject to a 30 million euro bid from the Gunners, which translates to the asking price of around £25 million. Di Maria has been linked alongside his fellow club teammate Karim Benzema as being Arsenal’s top target for now; however as an initial enquiry for Benzema was greeted with rejection, Wenger has since turned complete focus upon Di Maria in the hope that he can sign up at least one superstar this transfer window.

Forget Benzema, but Arsenal could get Di Maria from Real Madrid

It came as an exciting bit of news to hear that Arsenal are making moves for both Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria. Both of them are top players and I would love to see them here but I do not think there is a realistic chance of signing Benzema at the moment.

As all Arsenal fans will remember with a grudge, we have previously missed out on Gonzalo Higuain who was at Real Madrid. Napoli stole him out of our hands and that left Real Madrid with one less striker.
